Are you under obligation to dematerialize your public sector (B2G) invoicing in the near future ?

As of 1 January 2017, e-invoicing is gradually becoming mandatory for all suppliers invoicing the state, regional and local authorities and public entities.

Calendar for roll-out of B2G e-invoicing

French ordonnance 2014-697 of 26 June 2014 sets out the calendar for the introduction of mandatory e-invoicing by suppliers invoicing the state, regional and local authorities and their respective public establishments :

  • With effect from 1 January 2017: mandatory for large companies (over 5,000 employees) and public entities ;
  • 1 January 2018: mandatory for intermediate-sized companies (250 to 5,000 employees) ;
  • 1 January 2019: mandatory for small and medium-sized enterprises (10 to 250 employees) ;
  • 1 January 2020: mandatory for very small/micro enterprises (under 10 employees).
